Environment

At Vikan, we work for a sustainable future, and we are committed to continuous improvement

The three key pillars of our environmental initiatives are designed to minimise waste and our CO2 impact while increasing our use of sustainable materials.

Minimising Waste

Our products are manufactured at our own facilities, giving us full control of our production processes. Sorting out recyclable materials is a longstanding practice at Vikan that reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills or incinerators. We also repurpose what we can, such as using regenerated material or off-cuts in some of our products. Learn more about our efforts to minimise waste.

Sustainable Materials

At Vikan, we’re committed to making all our products from recycled or regenerated materials by 2030. Several of our Transport and Classic range products already contain recycled or regenerated materials, but strict regulations limit what can be used for our Hygiene and UST ranges. We are actively pursuing multiple solutions to these challenges.

Minimising our CO2 impact

Among other initiatives, we focus on energy efficiency in production and use electricity from windmills. We optimise transport solutions and have established regional distribution centres worldwide. To keep our travel to a minimum, we use digital tools and new technologies as an alternative to physical Site Surveys, customer visits, and business meetings whenever possible. Learn more about how we are working to minimise our CO2 impact.

Environmental policy

Through Vikan’s environmental policy, we commit to protecting our surroundings, continuously improving, selecting responsible suppliers, promoting environmental awareness, and leveraging an environmental management system to meet our sustainability objectives.
