Ally Scott
Ally started working at Vikan back in 2015 as an area sales manager and was responsible for Scotland, Ireland, and Northern England. This is a large geographic area and gave him plenty of opportunities to work with a variety of customers and provide quality cleaning solutions.
Ally knew the Vikan brand prior to joining and knew about the company’s values and products, which provided a good foundation.
In early 2022, Ally had the opportunity to join the Export Team as a regional sales manager responsible for the Middle East, South East Asia, and Africa. These markets are key to Vikan’s future growth and Ally says it is a privilege to be working so closely with our fantastic partners and customers to understand their territories and provide solutions for their needs.
During his time at Vikan he has experienced changes he calls refreshing. Ally highlights the focused approach to innovation, which has been a real market disruptor and shown Vikan’s desire to push past boundaries and maintain their position as market leaders in everything manual cleaning related.
“I think this approach really makes us stand out, as we are not content with just providing a ‘standard’ solution and always wish to go the extra mile to understand our customer’s needs,” he states. “The development of Ultra Safe Technology (UST) brush ware is a fantastic example of this.”
Ally also attaches a specific memory to the launch of the UST brushes:
“When we launched UST brushes in 2015, it was an interesting time and I was working closely with a Hygiene Manager from a large biscuit manufacturer in Glasgow, Scotland. I met and introduced the site to the benefits of the Ultra Safe Technology (UST) range, and he fell in love with the brushes, so much so that he was instrumental in promoting the range with his colleagues who were responsible for hygiene in the other eight manufacturing sites in the UK. He also provided a testimonial that contributed to the UST range winning an award with SOFHT for best new product. Sadly, he passed away recently, but I always found his willingness to share his knowledge really helped me to develop in my role.”

Ally believes it is important for Vikan to hold on to the values that have been part of Vikan since 1898, but at the same time, it is important to continue to innovate and create new products to solve the needs of the food industry. One of the things that makes him particularly proud to be working at Vikan is knowing that the company strives to produce the best products without compromise, every single day.
When you look back, what has been the best part of working with Vikan?
Knowing I have the support of my colleagues, but also knowing that I have the autonomy to use my own initiative to achieve my targets on a daily basis.
