Vikan Ownership

Making a difference is in Vikan’s DNA

The Vissing Foundation, a non-profit charitable foundation, owns 100% of Vikan’s shares. Our unusual ownership structure guides us to focus on the long-term outcomes of our decisions, including sustainability.

The Vissing Foundation’s mission

Food safety support

The foundation supports three main causes;

• medical research,

• sustainable energy,

• and marginalised young people and children.

Medical research

The Vissing Foundation has a long tradition of supporting cancer and diabetes research projects. This includes providing funding for near-patient research in disease prevention, diagnostics, and treatment in Denmark.

Energy research

The foundation supports research into sustainable energy for all, focusing on the use of efficient and renewable energy technologies. Sustainable energy is also one of the UN's 17 global goals.

Support for marginalised children and young people

The Vissing Foundation supports projects and activities that aim to contribute to a positive change in the lives of children and young people in Denmark who are experiencing difficult living conditions.
