Vikan achieves the newly updated Nordic Swan Ecolabel for several microfibre products

At Vikan, sustainability continues to be a cornerstone of our product development and corporate responsibility. As part of our ongoing efforts to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainable practices, we are proud to announce that the most popular mops in our microfiber range have achieved the newly updated Nordic Swan Ecolabel.  

While Vikan mops have featured the Nordic Swan Ecolabel for several years the updated standards are even more rigorous. These new standards set strict criteria across the entire product lifecycle—from raw material sourcing and production to use and disposal. Achieving this certification confirms that these microfiber mops meet high standards for reducing chemical use, lowering environmental emissions, increasing the percentage of recycled materials used in the mops, and increasing product durability, all while maintaining the superior performance our customers expect.

This milestone reflects our broader commitment to environmental stewardship and continuous improvement. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel ensures that Vikan microfiber mops contribute to a cleaner environment by lowering greenhouse gas emissions, limiting microplastic shedding, and supporting efficient water and detergent use. It also provides assurance to our customers and partners that Vikan is actively working to meet internationally recognized benchmarks for sustainable product design.  

As with our ISCC PLUS certification, earning the Nordic Swan Ecolabel represents not just a certification, but a meaningful step in our journey toward a cleaner, more sustainable future for hygiene-critical industries.
