As a responsible and sustainable business Vikan is a Sedex supplier member. Using Sedex tools and services helps our company improve our responsible business practices. This is documented through yearly SEDEX self-assessments and periodic SMETA audits.

SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) assesses a site based on their organisation’s standards of labour, health and safety, environment and business ethics through a third part auditor.

FSC^® Chain of Custody Certification

All wood for our brooms and handles now comes from FSC-certified sources.
In a FSC certified forest no more wood is logged than the forest can reproduce by itself. FSC also requires that the biodiversity is maintained, indigenous peoples’ rights are respected, and fair wages and safe work environment is provided for all forest workers.
The Forest Stewardship Council^® (FSC) is the world’s most trusted sustainable forest management solution (www.fsc.org). FSC addresses 14 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), covering ecological and social issues in forests around the globe.
Vikan is FSC Chain of Custody Certified (FSC C163353), and all Vikan Classic wooden products are FSC labelled – the mark of responsible forestry. A FSC Chain of Custody certification verify that FSC-certified material has been separated from non-certified material as it makes its way along the supply chain, from the forest to the market.

Only Classic products with FSC in the product name are certified.
