Unique products for unique challenges

Clinical safety and the avoidance of HAIs is a key driver behind the stringent hygiene rules and health and safety legislation that is directed at the healthcare industry. Preventing the spread of infection requires a clinically clean environment while a visibly clean site reassures patients and visitors of high standards of hygienic cleaning.

Bacterial removal

Daily cleaning of contaminated surfaces safeguards lives but exerts huge demands on both cleaning staff and the equipment used. Vikan's microfibre mops and cloths have been clinically proven to remove 99.9% of all bacteria, and significantly higher levels of dust and dirt from surfaces than traditional cleaning. In addition, with microfibres there is no build up of the sticky chemical residue on which bacteria thrive in hard-to-reach areas, such as behind sanitary ware or on and around bed wheels.

Not only is previously mopped up dirt and bacteria trapped in the fibres, but our simple click system allows the operator to detach a used mop head without ever touching it, reducing the risk of contaminating other surfaces. The soiling held within the fibres can only be removed by laundering the material at the recommended temperatures, which also ensures that all bacteria are killed and the mops are thermally disinfected ready for use again.

Our colour coding systems lower the risk of cross contamination yet further as mops and cloths used in clinical or food preparation areas are kept visibly separate from those used on wards or in washing/toilet areas.

Save time

Achieving higher levels of clinical cleanliness is a time consuming task, but Vikan's system ensures operators can spend their time effectively. Each self-contained trolley is equipped with specially selected, pre-prepared washable mops and cloths that can be deployed for use on a specific task, on a specific ward or in a designated clinical area.

Reduce slips and falls

The pre-prepared damp mops are more efficient at cleaning soiled areas than wet mops and remove the need to lift heavy buckets of water. They are also safer as they leave surfaces almost dry and eliminate the wet areas where bacteria breed.
