About Sunset Boulevard

Sunset Boulevard is a Danish fast-food chain specializing in healthy, nutritious sandwiches and salads. The first Sunset Boulevard restaurant opened in 1996, and there are now 38 restaurants in Denmark plus two overseas. Sunset Boulevard employs 750 staff.

Challenge

Sunset Boulevard considers food safety and hygiene in their kitchens and restaurants to be key priorities. Their challenge is to ensure the highest levels of hygienic cleanliness, while delivering an appetizing and appealing customer experience and a safe working environment for employees.

Cleaning is undertaken by the restaurant and kitchen employees, and is carried out during opening hours as well as when the restaurant is closed.

Sunset Boulevard was looking to standardize the restaurant cleaning protocol across the chain, and sought an effective and environmentally friendly system with products capable of delivering the high levels of cleanliness and microbial removal required.

Solution

Each Sunset Boulevard restaurant has been allocated four or five Vikan cleaning sets; comprising a self-contained trolley and pre-prepared washable mops and cloths that deliver time and cost savings as well as combining flexibility in deployment with an easy-to-store solution.

As the tools are especially designed to clean in narrow spaces, such as between table and chair legs or kitchen workstations, making them ideal for the quick-service restaurant. They are also intended to be easy to use by non-professional cleaning staff, and in an industry where staff turnover is often high. The attractive appearance of the tools is important in a customer-facing setting, while with very low water volume use and no use of chemicals, the system is also better for the environment.
