Innovation
From the launch of our first threaded brush handle in 1960, through the industry's first fully plastic brushes (1974) with colour-coded filaments (1989) and fully coloured bodies (2000) to the introduction of the microfibre concept (2006), award-winning ergonomic handles (2009) and the condensation squeegee (2011) to highlight just a few of our innovations, we have worked hard to make cleaning simpler, easier and more effective.
Our product innovation is driven by the needs of the end user in premises where there are heavy demands on hygiene and cleanliness. For example, our range of durable microfibre and colour-coded tools have been developed in close collaboration with food and healthcare customers as they strive to better their cleaning performance, improve standards of hygiene, and eliminate microbial and cross contamination issues.
All our products are easy to clean and ergonomically designed to ensure efficiency. The tools are fully moulded and quick drying to reduce the potential for microbial growth and accumulation, and are heat and chemical resistant to facilitate microbe removal.
Vikan's 'superbly adjustable' ergonomic handle won the prestigious Purus Award for outstanding design innovation in cleaning equipment at the 2009 CMS (Cleaning. Management. Services.) International Trade Fair and Congress.
